Who Inspired Us

Sam Ford, Joshua Green and Henry Jenkins are the authors of Spreadable Media, and their ideas were of great influence to us as they provide a clear understanding of how people are spreading ideas and the implications these activities have for business and everyday life. (spreadablemedia.org)

 

Lawrence Lessig was a founding member of Creative Commons, an organization that builds better copyright practice. Remix: How Creativity Is Strangled by the Law, was extremely useful especially when working with our clients from the Organization of Transformative Works, as Lessig argues against the extreme regulation of copyright law which stifles creativity, economic growth, and a “free society”.

Timely and deeply relevant, The Young and the Digital inspired us as Craig Watkins defends the idea of social media as a space of one’s own and a way to stay connected, thus debunking popular myths surrounding social isolation. 

In Between Democracy and Spectacle, Felix Stalder explains how we can utilize the potential of new modes of collaboration to align community and commercial interests, which led us to focus on the tensions between the front end and the infrastructure of the backend.
